Ballin' 4 Peace Founder and Queens native Haron Hargrave was recently named to Queens Borough President Donovan Richards' 130-person transition team. Made up of 14 committees, the group of advisers includes a diverse range of interests ranging from government, to nonprofit leaders, and community activists.
Ballin'4 Peace continues to support inner-city youth and educational programs. With a focus on providing individuals and families with the tools to enrich their lives and build healthy communities, Queens Community House is now offering a fully remote engagement after school program for Middle School students (Grades 6-8) from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Learn more and register today!
Ballin’ 4 Peace is excited to be selected as a charity partner for the upcoming focus on fitness event, The 5 Borough Challenge, presented by fitness expert Paul Bamba and taking place at designated parks from around Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Queens on Saturday, October 24th, 2020.
Join Ballin’ 4 Peace as we partner with Housing Works Youth and Prevention Services (HWYPS) to present “Men’s Health Awareness Day” on Saturday, October 17th (11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.) at Kings Manor Museum (150-03 Jamaica Avenue, Jamaica, New York 11432). Along with offering a day of live music, delicious food, and drinks, HWYPS staff members will be on-hand giving out free facemasks, hand sanitizer, totes, earpods, fanny packs, collector cups, personal protection (condoms/lubricant), COVID-19 testing, and information on local clinics and housing. In addition, Insti HIV/Hep C/STI testing will be available on-site and self HIV test kits are available to take home. In addition, Cultural Collaborative Jamaica will also be part of the event and will present workout sessions conducted by Jamaica Fit.
Fresh off of taking part in the East Coast “Peaches & Crates” and NYC Park Tour with The Hoop Bus and and Veniceball over the weekend, Ballin’ 4 Peace Founder Haron Hargrave joined recording artist and actress Lakithia Nicole for a sit down interview at her Brooklyn studio for the latest episode of Lakithia Nicole Talk.
Ballin’ 4 Peace is very proud to take part in the the East Coast “Peaches & Crates” Hoopbus Tour presented by Veniceball, as stops will include Philadelphia and New York on Friday, September 25th and Saturday, September 26th. The Philadelphia tour stop will coincide with the “Fuel the Vote” event organized by When We All Vote in Philadelphia from 9:00-3:00 p.m., before traveling to NYC to team-up with Rucker Park, Dyckman, and Hoops In The Sun (times to be announced).
