Play Ball: 3rd Annual Ballin’ 4 Peace Charity Softball Game Against The NYPD

Time to grab a bat, a ball, and your glove as Ballin’ 4 Peace gets ready to hit the field versus the NYPD at the 3rd Annual Ballin’ 4 Peace Charity Softball Game.

This year, the softball game takes place on Sunday, July 28th, at Randall’s Island Field at 11:00 am with the on-going series tied at 1-1. The full day of activities includes a Youth All Star Game, an H2O Music performance, and a Home Run Derby before the Ballin’ 4 Peace All-Stars take to the field against the NYPD.

The best part: this is a free community event!

“It’s about giving the youth the opportunity to see something positive,” said Ballin’ 4 Peace Founder, Haron Hargrave coming off of last year’s 10-5 win over the NYPD at the 2nd Annual Ballin' 4 Peace Charity Softball Game.

What a difference a year makes. The 1st Annual Ballin' 4 Peace Charity Softball Game was held at Elston Howard Field was both well-attended and covered live by News12 Bronx, thanks to some solid softball play on the field. Along with celebrities like Jermel Howard (from Power) producer Amadeus, and Brooklyn Rapper K Goddess all suited up for the Ballin 4 Peace All-Stars, the NYPD was well represented by Lieutenant Michael Almonte, Lieutenant Kai Bowen, and NYC Corrections Officer Linda Martinez, among a host of other officers who rounded out the NYPD Finest squad.

“Our first softball charity game was a hit thanks to the NYPD, the New York Parks & Rec. Department, and our partners like Just For Kids and Wooter Apparel,” Hargrave shared.

“Not only was the game the chance to bring unity to the community by working with the NYPD,  but we shed positive light on spreading peace through sports in the Bronx as we held an unforgettable event and afternoon of giving back.”

This year, it’s anyone’s game at the 3rd Annual Ballin’ 4 Peace Charity Softball Game against the NYPD.
