Ballin’ 4 Peace 3X3 Teams Earn Victories at BIG3 Street Tour and Sonny Women’s Invitational

Whether it's giving back to communities across New York City or shining on the basketball court as a non-profit organization, Ballin’ 4 Peace knows how to rack up the wins.

That’s easily been the case this summer for both B4P’s Men’s and Women’s 3x3 basketball teams who respectively earned victories that resonate far beyond the game. Thanks to standout play on both ends of the floor, athletes like Anthony Soares, Enees Nikovic, Marquis Cunningham, Michael Kelly Jr., and Ballin’4 Peace founder Haron Hargrave shined for the guys on their way to competing in the BIG3 Street Tour.

In early June, the BIG3 announced the tour event would take place at the iconic Dyckman Park in the Bronx in early July and feature teams put together by top New York basketball talent, including influencers and other amateur players, all playing modified BIG3 rules. Powered by the BIG3, JD Sports, and Total by Verizon, the Street Tour was free to enter and headlined the BIG3’s New York takeover with a BIG3 game played at the Prudential Center Newark, New Jersey.

“It’s the type of play at courts like Dyckman that inspired the BIG3 game and I’m excited to make the BIG3’s presence known in New York,” BIG3 CEO and co-founder, Ice Cube shared in a press release prior to the start of the BIG3 Street Tour tipping-off.

The event marked the third BIG3 Street Tour since the tour’s inception and is only going to grow, with potentially 10 events per year between September and August reportedly in the works. Next year’s tour will see the winning team from each event entered into a Championship Bracket with the potential to win $50,000 in a showdown held before the 2025 BIG3 Championship Game.

Since launching the very first event, the BIG3 Street Tour prides itself on being a traveling tournament that gives the best basketball talent a chance to showcase their skills in front of BIG3 players and coaches and fans at the intersection of streetwear, sneaker culture, and basketball.

“Being able to say that we held our own in the BIG3 Street Tour will always be an unforgettable experience for me,” said Ballin’ 4 Peace founder, Haron Hargrave.

“The fact that we were able to come together on the behalf of Ballin’ 4 Peace and help spread a message of peace in sports, and leave with the ‘W’, means so much to me.”

For the Women’s 3x3 team, they equally made an impact on the court for B4P by playing in the Sonny Women’s Invitational tournament and earning a shared prize of $10,000 by winning it all. Presented by Aimé Leon Dore, the Sonny Women’s Invitational event was the perfect stage for Ballin’ 4 Peace to show and prove with a star-studded roster of Niki Avery, Monet Johnson, Cori Coleman, and Renee Taylor going to work.

“These ladies who suited-up for Ballin’ 4 Peace truly are a group of champions, both on and off the court,” Hargrave said.

“While the work we do every day in the community is so meaningful, so is being able to celebrate moments like this together where a group of people can become a team who makes a difference just by stepping on the basketball court together.”
