Two Day Basketball Tournament at QueensWeek XII Keeps Focus on Community

(Queens, New York - August, 26, 2023) -- It’s that time of the year again. After a thrilling return to the basketball court last year, QueensWeek XII is back in action on Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10 with a two-day basketball tournament at Baisley Pond South Playground at 150th Park (150th & 130th South Ozone Park) in Jamaica Queens, New York.

Just like in years past, teams will play in a double-elimination tournament with a cash prize of $5000 going to the winning team who will be crowned QueensWeek Champions.

“Each summer when QueensWeek rolls around, I can't wait to get everyone together to both compete on the court and to keep the focus on our community, said Ballin’ 4 Peace Founder, Haron Hargrave, who is sponsoring the event.

"QueensWeek is so important, especially when it comes to furthering our message and cause of spreading peace through sports."

Along with Ballin' 4 Peace, Wooter Apparel is back as the official uniform sponsor, with Badmon Jerk, Growing Social, Streamline, World Wide Auto Sales & Repair Doctor, and Live At The Garage also serving as sponsors.

Founded in 2008, 501(c)3 non-profit organization Ballin’ 4 Peace (B4P) is committed to raising awareness about violence within NYC and beyond. B4P provides an outlet for inner-city youth who can interface with their favorite celebrities, athletes, and influencers as they promote peace through sports, annual events, and by partnering with companies and brands who mutually share the same vision of “giving back”.
