Fourth Annual “Celebrating Our Wins” All-Women’s Panel Presented By Ballin’ 4 Peace Highlights Roads To Success
Monday, February 26 (Queens, New York) -- For the past three years, Ballin’ 4 Peace has celebrated and honored the leadership of women in business everywhere by hosting an all-women’s panel discussion filled with valuable insights and life-changing experiences with “Celebrating Our Wins”.
This year, the annual event returns with another star-studded panel on Friday, March 8 at Democracy Prep Endurance High School in New York City and will be headlined by ladies who have achieved vast success in media, music, wellness, and athletics.
“Each year we get ready to host this important discussion, we grow more appreciative of what these women have to say and offer when it comes to achieving success,” said Ballin’ 4 Peace Founder, Haron Hargrave.
“I hope all of the students who attend and hear these words of advice can apply them to their own lives.”
Marie David is back to moderate the all-women’s panel and shares the stage with Kenya Gipson (iHeartRadio host and wellness expert), Dr. Lena Green, Ayanna (singer and songwriter), Steph G (hip-hop artist), and Candace Byfield (Owner, Sandbox Fitness Boxing Club).
Marie David is the CEO and founder of women empowerment brand “A Lady Who Knows”, which she launched in 2013 and currently serves as a Digital Producer for The Steve Harvey Morning Show, Middays with Shaila, and ’Déjà Vu In The Afternoons’ for New York’s 107.5 WBLS and HOT 97. She is also the social media manager for The Wendy Williams Show and has previously worked as an online reporter in front of the camera and behind the scenes at WBLS and HOT 97.
“Coach” Kenya Gipson, is a creator, mother, and passionate wellness advocate. As a 4-time marathoner, and certified coach through The National Academy of Sports Medicine she developed E.A.S.E. (Energizing, Active, Strength, Exercise), a wellness format that helps transform negative thought patterns and develop a healthy body and mental state through movement and mindfulness. Coach Kenya teaches weekly fitness classes and hosts her nationally syndicated radio and podcast segment, Power Move, on iHeartRadio. Kenya’s wellness journey has been featured with Nike and on The Today Show, with a mission to master motherhood, marriage, and media by living a balanced lifestyle and empowering other women to do the same.
Dr. Lena Green is a clinical social worker, psychotherapist, and fatherhood practitioner. With more than 20 years of direct practice and management experience as a clinician, professor and administrator, Dr. Green has had a tremendous impact on countless New Yorkers through her work in mental health, program planning, development, clinical supervision, and building strategic partnerships. Dr. Green holds both a doctorate and master’s degree in social work from NYU; a BA in psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, post-master’s certificates in Advance Clinical Practice from Hunter College, and the Treatment of Alcohol and Drug Addicted Clients from NYU. Dr. Green serves on several boards and is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In 2019, Dr. Lena Green received the National Association of Social Workers, New York City Chapter’s (NASW-NYC) Social Work I.M.P.A.C.T. Award, presented to a social worker who, “exemplifies the commitment to social justice, equity, empowerment, and civil rights, through their work, research, advocacy, practice, embodiment of the social work profession, and their dedication to the communities and individuals they serve.”
Born into a family of musicians from the Caribbean, Ayanna Irish knew music was her calling at a very young age and would go on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Music at City College, CUNY. From performing the national anthem at Brooklyn Nets’ games, to working with Kanye West and Jadakiss, Ayanna was invited to tour with Patti Labelle after the legendary soul artist discovered Ayanna's demo recording of "If Only You Knew." Since then Ayanna has performed for Season 2 of the hit TV show "Oh Sit", George Lopez's Haiti Charity Concert, and has opened for artists Mariah Carey, Brian McKnight, Rod Stewart and Ricky Martin at the Walmart Shareholder's Concert. Currently, she is touring with Booker T Jones and is featured on the song “Baby” and has previously released her first R&B single “All Or Nothing” produced by HeatMakerz. Ayannna is also featured on Talib Kweli’s latest release “You Are My Everything”, with her most recent single “Be Mine” produced by Trackmasters, out now on all platforms.
Born Stephanie Garcia, Steph G hails from Brownsville, Brooklyn and has been captivating audiences with her unique rap style and melodic vibes over the past two years. Along with viral tracks like “Chopped Cheese” and “Danger Zone”, Steph G came correct with her mixtape “Like a G”. Steph's current projects include the songs "WYA", “Feelin Myself” and “That’s Crazy”, which are all now on streaming platforms. In addition to collaborating with artists like Rowdy Rebel, Steph G's mission is to be relatable and show that it's okay to feel different emotions.
The owner of Sandbox Fitness Boxing Club, Candace Byfield has helped train and develop young fighters starting at 7-years-old. With a dedication to training, conditioning, and growth, Candace brings out the best in people thanks to the licensed coaches, former boxing professionals, trainers, and boxers that call Sandbox Fitness Boxing Club home.
