First Celebrity Charity Softball Game A Home Run In The Bronx Thanks To Ballin 4 Peace And The NYPD

Two weeks...

That’s how long it took for Ballin 4 Peace to tirelessly prepare to host an unforgettable and inspiring Celebrity Charity Softball Game in the Bronx at Elston Howard Field across from Yankees Stadium against the New York Police Department.

Led by Ballin 4 Peace Founder, Haron Hargrave, the event wouldn’t have been possible without members of the NYPD taking part, a long list of social media influencers, hip-hop artists, entertainers, and photographers hitting the field, the New York Parks & Recreation Department in the Bronx, Just For Kids, and Wooter Apparel who created the Pink and Baby Blue customized uniforms.

Peace and Equality -- it was more than two team names on this day. It was a message to focus on from the diamond to the streets of New York.

Not only did the star-studded event go to support the Ballin 4 Peace Scholarship Program, but also to benefit Pearl Baseball & Softball Foundation in Jinja, Uganda, as the foundation empowers young baseball and softball players in Africa. Equipment donations were also gathered and will be sent to the Pearl Baseball & Softball Foundation to help give back and provide a new generation of young baseball players and softball players in Uganda with the tools to succeed on the field.

Along with celebrities like Jermel Howard (from Power) producer Amadeus, and Brooklyn Rapper K Goddess all suited up for the Ballin 4 Peace All-Stars, the NYPD was well represented by Lieutenant Michael Almonte, Lieutenant Kai Bowen, and NYC Corrections Officer Linda Martinez, among a host of other officers who rounded out the NYPD Finest squad. Greg Thompson from News12 Bronx was on-hand to cover the charity game and highlight the community outreach and impact that Ballin 4 Peace made from the Bronx and all the way to Uganda.

While it took two weeks to pull all of the ingredients together -- from the players, to the NYPD team, the cool jerseys, and securing park permits -- to make the charity softball game happen, there’s no doubt that the event and afternoon of community outreach that occurred in the Bronx won’t be forgotten any time soon.

Ballin 4 Peace is already planning for the 2nd Annual Celebrity Charity Softball Game in 2022 and another chance to make a difference and spread peace through sports.
