Ballin' 4 Peace Named Charity Partner For The 5 Bourough Challenge

(New York, New York -- October 19, 2020) -- Ballin’ 4 Peace is very excited to share the news that the organization has been selected as a charity partner for the upcoming focus on fitness event, The 5 Borough Challenge.

Organized and led by fitness expert Paul Bamba, The 5 Borough Challenge is an amazing activation in New York over the course of one day and will serve as a platform to advocate for fitness and healthy living within the marginalized and underserved communities that are most in need.

“Along with continuing to spread peace through sports, Ballin’ 4 Peace is also strongly committed to being an advocate for health and wellness in our communities,” said Ballin’ 4 Peace Founder, Haron Hargrave.

“Being selected to support the work of Paul Bamba and The 5 Borough Challenge is the perfect way to keep the attention on fitness, healthy living, and the chance to come together to encourage one another during National Make A Difference Day. We can’t wait to see everyone there!”

On Saturday, October 24th, 2020 on National Make A Difference Day, Paul will conduct social distancing compliant group fitness sessions at an outdoor location in each borough of New York City. The respective boroughs will be partnered with a local charity, to help raise monies and awareness for their organization. The borough that raises the most money will have their donation matched. The locations of the fitness sessions will be at various parks around Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn, Staten Island and Queens...

Those who do plan on attending can still donate to their respective borough’s fundraiser initiative on the site as well before the end of the challenge. The fundraisers are a result of each borough being connected with a local charity with monies and awareness being raised for their individual causes and 100% of proceeds from fundraising efforts going directly to the charities.  Along with Ballin’ 4 Peace (Queens), the chosen charities include Robinhood (Manhattan), Khamit Learning Academy (Brooklyn), Safe Horizons (Staten Island), and Children of Promise (The Bronx).

“I am so excited to be bringing an initiative of this magnitude to New York City,” said Paul Bamba.

“Fitness and philanthropy are both passions of mine and being able to intertwine them into one cohesive event is something I have always dreamed of doing to impact the lives of the people of our community.”

With participation from a list of influential supporters such as Miss NYC, Kristen Marie Rios and contemporary soul violinist Damien Escobar, representing The Bronx and Queens respectively, this daylong event is one that will have an impact on all involved.

Founded in 2008 by Queens, New York native and former Sacramento State basketball and pro guard, Haron Hargrave, Ballin’ 4 Peace (B4P) is committed to raising awareness about violence within NYC and beyond.
